Warning - Misleading fee payment notices
For several years now, organisations have been operating throughout the world in an attempt to deceive holders of industrial property rights, such as patents, trademarks, designs and/or related pending applications, by sending false invoices requesting payment of substantial sums for the publication or registration of said industrial property rights or related pending applications.
These organisations use names and images that misleadingly recall real existing national and international offices responsible for the registration, examination and management of such industrial property rights, such as the UIBM (Italian Patent and Trademark Office), the EPO (European Patent Office), EUIPO (European Intellectual Property Office), WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organisation), etc.
In addition to warning you of this type of fraud, we take this opportunity to emphasise that any request for payment for the filing, maintenance and renewal of an intellectual property title or related application entrusted to IP Sextant will only be made through our communication channels.
By way of example, and not exhaustively, some of the names used by these organisations are as follows: ЕРТР - European Patent &Trademark Protection, Trademark Renewal Service, Patent & Trademark Bureau, EIPS - European Intellectual Property Services, EPTA - European Patent and Trademark Agency, Urząd Patentowy RP, GOIP - Intellectual Property, IPRO - Intellectual Property Registration Office, IPIO - Organization Intellectual Property.
