Celebrating the 550th anniversary of the world's first industrial property law.
The Ca' Foscari University has announced a series of meetings from Wednesday 13 March to 19 March 2024 to celebrate the so-called "Venetian Patent Statute", promulgated in Venice on 19 March 1474 by the Senate of the Republic. The Venetian Patent Statute established an administrative procedure for the granting of industrial patents. It is the first known example, not only in Italy but in the whole world, of a patent system, although in fact the first Venetian patent had been granted earlier, in 1469, to a German citizen, Johann von Speyer, for printing with movable type.
The Eng. A. Scilletta will take part in the Round Table on 13th March 2024 organised at Ca' Foscari between Italian and international representatives of policies and their applications for the valorisation of industrial property.
